Shadows

March 27th- I have been a dedicated MAC eyeshadow user for as long as I can remember, I thought there is no way I'm going to give my MAC shadow up. There's no way Mary Kay has eyeshadow that has such strong pigment. Well to my surprise once again, the Mary Kay Mineral Eye Colors are great, just as good as MAC They come in a metal tray like MAC so you can customize your MK compact and change them out with ease. These shadows are only $6.50 ea and another thing that makes them a better bargain is that if for ANY reason a shadow should break your MK Beauty Consultant will replace it for free! Now that's something MAC isn't going to do!

Multi Purpose Eye Color

March 25th- The perfect summer eyeshadow! Mary Kay's Cream Eye Color. This product can be used in a number of different ways, the first as a "day wear" eyeshadow, especially in the summer months at the beach, pool, etc... This product is waterproof, so it's great for a little color when enjoying summer activities. The second is as an eye primer, it make for a great base color to dust your eyeshadow over. It will help keep your eyeshadow in place and keep it from collecting in your eye crease. Lastly, it's great on the go eye color, just rub it on your eyelid with your finger and go! Throw it in your purse and never worry about it breaking :)

The big CoverUp!

March 21st- Thank goodness for the Mary Kay Concealer!
I normally don't wear concealer everyday, just occasionally. On the rare occasions when I have, it has been Mac concealer, which works fine, but I feel has a tendency to not have a smooth finish. Well over the weekend, with all the rain in SoCal, I was in a pretty bad car accident. As a result of the car accident, I ended up with a pretty ugly black eye! Yicks! So I figured what better test for a concealer, right! My accident was on saturday morning, all weekend I used my MK TimeWise Targeted Eye Revitalizer to reduce the swelling and bruising. On Tuesday when I went back to work I used my Mary Kay concealer and applied my makeup as usual, no one could tell I had a black eye! Yay! A new must have for the makeup bag!

A girl needs options!

March 18th- I've already blogged about the Mary Kay TimeWise 3 in 1 cleanser, which comes in a tube. What's great is that this product comes in a bar form as well. I personally love keeping my MK cleanser in the tube under my sink for night cleansing and the MK TimeWise 3 in 1 cleansing bar in the shower for morning cleansing.
The cleansing bar makes my face feel fresh and clean just like the cleansing gel/cream, and it comes in a protective case that's great for travel.

No raccoon makeup, eyeliner sliding down to my cheeks! This is a major feat for someone like me who has oily skin. The MK eyeliners come in a number of colors and the pigment of those colors are strong, so once again a little goes along way! Did I mention there's no ANIMAL TESTING!

Beauty 2 Go

March 14th- something I love about the Mary Kay Cosmetic line is that you can build your own compact. There are 3 different sizes to choose from, the Mini, Compact and Pro. Any of these sizes could b handy! The mini would be great to throw in your purse or clutch to replace that bulky cosmetic bag. The Pro size would be perfect for travel! All the MK eyeshadows, blushes, Bronzers and pressed powders magnetically insert into these great compact and they are much easier to remove and replace then other brands! Check them out and all the fun colors Mary Kay carries!

Sun Kissed Face

March 13th- Today I want to talk about makeup instead of the MK skin care. I love a sun kissed look, so I like to use bronzing powder. Not only am I testing out all the Mary Kay skin care products, I'm also trying out there makeup. I ordered one of the Mary Kay Mineral Powder Bronzers. When it arrived I chuckled because this Bronzer was the size of a large eyeshadow, not what I was use to seeing. Bronzers usually come in a round compact. I thought to myself "theres no way this is going to work like the bronzer I'm currently using, this little bronzer is a joke". I grabbed A BRAND NEW powder brush, to really put this product to the test. To my utter surprise a warm glow swept all over my face. Once again so excited by what I experienced! This little bronzer, like all the Mary Kay product, goes along way! The MK Mineral Powder Bronzers come in shimmer and matte. I love them on there own but also love to mix them! Happy dusting :)

Pretty Hands

March 12th- Have you ever heard the saying " You can always tell a women's age by looking at her hands", well not if you use the Mary Kay Satin Hands Pampering Set! This set consist of a Hand Softener, Hand Scrub and Hand Cream. This system will keep your hands looking and feeling great!
Working in a hair salon, my hands are constantly in water and as a result get dry, cracked and even bleed. I am happy to report that my hands are not dry or cracked and that the Satin Hand Cream on its own is amazing. It protects the hand and stays on them for up to 8 hand washings. I've asked some of the other stylist to try it out as well and it's unanimous, we love this stuff!

March 10th- Are you someone that battles with dark circles or puffy eye? If so, this is the product 4 you. I recently received a message on my Facebook from a friend raving about this product. Her story, in a short version when like this, " Celebrating a promotion at work, had a few glasses of wine, woke up at 5am to scary puff eyes, reached for my Mary Kay TimeWise Targeted Action Eye Revitalizer. Went back to sleep and was happy to wake up to normal eyes and then proceeded to receive complements on how good i looked all day at work!". What more needs to be said? It works! I'd like to add from my own experience that this product is get to roll over your makeup under your eyes to give you a lite up awake look, on those mornings or nights when your running on little sleep.

Botox in a Bottle

March 9th- Not only does Mary Kay have the most amazing at home Microdermabrasion set but they also have TimeWise Replenishing Serum-C! Hello Lover, this stuff is truly Botox in a bottle, so put the needle down and pick the bottle up!
The product comes in a six week supple, which I've used morning and night before the day and evening solution and I'm pretty sure will last longer then the six week. Regardless of how long it lasts, after only a week of use, I have noticed a major difference. This product claims to "Give collagen a boost and help skin bounce back" and I have to say after a week of use I can confirm that claim :) Just think how much time and money you can save by replacing Botox with Mary Kay's TimeWise Replenishing Serum-C, to mention that it's probably healthier for you as well!

Photo finish

March 8th- I love foundation primer, it makes your skin look flawless, but I feel like whenever I wear it I have a pimple the next day,so I only wear it on special events.
I've been using Smashbox foundation primer up until now, I've found that the Mary Kay Foundation Primer is just as good as Smashbox and maybe even better. Mary Kay's primer feels lighter and I haven't experienced the next day pimple like I have with other foundation primers. This means everyday can have a photo finish!
If you've never used a foundation primer, they basically smooth out your skin and help keep your makeup in place for long periods of time. I would recommend it for anyone that works long hours.

Liquid Foundation

March 7th- I've been told that the Mary Kay TimeWise liquid foundation is a must do. It was explained to me like this... Your planning to drive to Las Vegas in your brand now car and you don't want to get it all dirty, so u decide to rap it in plastic wrap. You hop in the car and drive all the way to Vegas. When you arrive, as one would expect, the front of our car is covered with dirt and splattered bugs, but this is no concern because you wrapped you car with plastic wrap. All you have to do is unwrap it and pull into valet. The Mary Kay TimeWise matte wear ( for combination/oily) and luminescent ( for normal to dry) Liquid Foundation is like the plastic wrap. It goes on after your AM skin care regimen and before your mineral powder to creat a barrier that keeps the grit and grim away from the skin.
I've never worn liquid foundation, but I did try the Mary Kay Matte wear liquid foundation, and I found it to be very light, oily controlling and it also evened out my skin tone. The product is like all the Mary Kay product I've used so far, you get a lot for your money and a little goes along way. The whole product line is very reasonable priced and I've noticed the containers are larger then most product lines, but most important the products I've tried this fare work incredible. At 37 yrs old I feel my skin is looking better with every passing day since I've started using MK :)

Got chapped lip?

March 6th- There is a cure for chronic chapped lips and it is, Mary Kay Satin Lip Set, which includes a lip mask and a lip balm.
The lip mask is almost like a scrub for your lips, exfoliating the dry skin. Once that is applied, worked in and rinsed off the Satin Lip Balm is applied. The combo make your lips super soft and moist. I feel confident you will no longer need to reach for the Chapstick ever 5 minutes once u use this product! Pucker up :)

The True Miracle...at home Microdermabrasion

March 5th- Today I want to share with you my experience using the Mary Kay TimeWise Microdermabrasion Set. It's nothing short of AMAZING! I have had my fare share of salon microdermabrasions', that are not cheap I might add, but not anymore. For the reasonable price of just $55.00 I can give myself a dermabrasion once a week for a yr! The result are incredible and I'm tempted to do it more then once a week!
Being a hairstylist, I'm looking in a mirror all day and recently have notice the lines on my forehead have becoming more apparent...scary! I've used the Mary Kay TimeWise Microdermabrasion Set ONLY TWO TIMES and I am over joyed to report that the lines on my forehead are almost got! This product alone has sold me on Mary Kay. I only wish someone had told me to use it sooner!

Try it, you won't be sorry! Did I mention how soft my skin feel! Love this product!

The Foundation

March 3rd- I've never been much for liquid foundation or heavy powder foundation. I've always used a light loose powder, which has never controlled the shine that comes with oily skin. When I ordered the TimeWise Miracle set you could add a foundation for a small additional fee, so I decided to order MK Mineral Powder Foundation.
Working in a hair salon, by the end of the day my face is a major oil slick. No foundation powder has been able to control it, until now my face looked almost the same as it did before I left the house for work with this product. Now I have to say I haven't tried the MK Mineral Powder Foundation by itself I have been using it in conjunction with the TimeWise Miracle set for combination oily skin, so the great results may be from using the whole system together. Needless to say I love the MK Mineral Powder Foundation, it gives great lightweight coverage and controls the oil slick :) Happy Powdering.

Mary Kay eye makeup remover

March 2- Let me start by saying I'm not a big fan of eye makeup remover, I feel that they creat a greasy makeup mess.
I have recently learned that cleaning your eye thoroughly is very important do to the fact that we have eye mites (u can google it for more info., I personally am to scared to, so I'll just keep my eyes as clean as possible). Now I feel makeup remover is an essential part of the evening cleansing routine.
Mary Kay is know for its amazing eye makeup remover and I have to say I found it to live up to that reputation! Place a little on a cotton pad, apply it to your eye, hold it there for a few moments and swipe ALL your eye makeup off at once. For the record I wear a lot of waterproof eye makeup and it all wiped off with ease. I'm sold!
I would like to add a few tips that apply to the Mary Kay TimeWise Miracle Set (which i blogged about on March 1st): the Night Solution can be dabbed on to pimps to keep them at bay; the Day Solution (25 SPF) should be applied after cleansing and then the Age Fighting moisturizer over it (always apply sunscreen first then your moisturizer); and lastly you should wash your face twice in the am and twice in the pm. The first wash remover the grime the second cleans your pores.

30 day skin care challange

March 1st- I'm excited to share my finding as I explore the world of Mary Kay. A little back history on me, I'm 37 yr old and have been a hairstylist for 16 yrs. Two weeks ago a friend approached me about using the Mary Kay line, which I associated with older women and pink Cadillacs, but i thought why not,  nothing else I've tryed has brought the results I've been looking for. So with that being said I'm going to blog my way through my finding with the Mary Kay skin care line.
I started with the basic set of the TimeWise skin care which consists of a 3 in 1 cleanser (a very little goes a long way), 25 spf (very light and not greasy), a daily moisturizer (also light weight) and the night solution. After two week I have noticed the elasticity of my skin has improver, making my make up look smoother and my extremely oily skin is much less oil. This alone makes me very excited to try more MK products. Tomorrow let put that eye makeup remover to the test.
